Description from the creator

Haydn Christensen at Bayberry Fresh in Fort Collins, Colorado shows us why and how to sucker tomato plants.

Suckering is a way to manage the tomato plant to produce more fruit, waste less energy on unusable vegetation, and keep your greenhouse neat and clean. For anyone growing tomatoes, this is a crucial step.

Sucker tomatoes when the vegetative shoots are an inch to several inches long. You should have only the main flowering shoots and the main leaf shoots coming off your main leader or stem in an alternating pattern. If done incorrectly, the plants will be messy and sprawling and will produce fewer fruits.

Keep suckering the plants until the end of the season.
