Description from the creator

To enable Developer Mode on your Chromebook is super easy with this step by step tutorial which still works in 2025.

Don't forget to back up all of your files and data before putting your Chromebook into Developer Mode as all the data on the Chromebook will be erased. You can backup and save your personal data, pictures, videos, music etc. to an external drive such as an SSD or flash drive thumb drive or backup your personal data to your Google Drive Google Cloud, or any other cloud drive.

When the Chromebook has Developer Mode activated and all the data is erased in the process, it is basically just factory resetting the Chromebook and taking it back to a fresh install, just like a new Chromebook. When this happens, do not worry, your Google account Android account is not deleted, only the data on that Chromebook is deleted. Your Google Android account is not deleted and is safe.

This way of turning on Developer Mode on a Chromebook does not work on a school Chromebook. School Chromebooks are locked to the administrator of the school's Google account and needs to be unlocked by that administrator.

Want to unlock the full potential of your Chromebook? Enable DEVELOPER MODE and discover a world of possibilities! With Developer Mode, you can gain access to advanced features, customize your Chromebook to your heart's content, and even install Linux apps. But be warned: enabling Developer Mode will wipe all your data, so make sure to back up your files before proceeding. In this video, we'll show you how to enable Developer Mode on your Chromebook in just a few easy steps. Whether you're a seasoned developer or just a curious Chromebook user, this video is for you. So, what are you waiting for? Enable Developer Mode RIGHT NOW and take your Chromebook to the next level!
