Description from the creator

A lot of players think that just because they aren't running around in the mud and dirt that their guns don't need to be cleaned. Well, actually where most of the dirt and grime comes from dust in the air. In addition, the gas that cycles through your gun and can create build-up in, on, and around all of the moving parts inside of your gun. Knowing how to clean your gun is going to prevent breaking and malfunctioning problems.

Let's start with mag maintenance. It's best to keep your mags filled at least half full all of the time to preserve the o-rings and seals. If you store your mags empty, expect to spend a lot of money on new valves (and other maintenance). Keep this in mind: just by keeping 25 cents of gas in the mag, you save yourself from having to buy $7 mag valves. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

After you have taken your mag out of the gun:
Remove your slide
Remove your spring guide
Remove your barrel nut
Remove the outer and inner barrel as one piece. The outer/inner barrel assembly can be cleaned just like your AEG barrel. (See our video on how to clean your AEG barrel here: youtu.be/9rYnrJyF1bM ).
The next pieces that need attention are the slide rails on both the slide and the lower receiver. This is where most of the bur and friction come from on the Elite Force 1911.
- Clean them with a dry cotton swap on both of the pieces.
- Clean out the trigger mechanism and the hammer.
- Use a drop of light weight silicone oil to lubricate the slide.

You will also want to add a drop of light silicone oil to your:
- trigger mechanism
- disconnector
and your hammer

Reassemble your gun and you are all done. You have just completed some basic gas blow back pistol maintenance.
