Description from the creator

Take a look inside a cell at the cytoskeleton—which is a network of protein microfilaments and microtubules.

Microfilaments are made from the protein actin and give a cell its shape and tension. The microtubules are hollow tubes (which are thicker than microfilaments) and these resist compression.

*EXAM TIP: The take-home message from this video is the importance of the cytoskeleton as it provides mechanical strength to cells, aiding transport within cells and enabling cell movement.

This is for A-Level Biology OCR Students only.
