Description from the creator

This tutorial covers the control of gene expression in closer detail. By the end of this video you will be able to recall the role of the steroid hormone, oestrogen and in initiating transcription as an example of a transcription factor.

Transcription factors are proteins that control the rate of protein synthesis by turning on and off different genes. Here we will look into activators and suppressors. We will use the example of the common known hormone oestrogen.

In eukaryotes, transcription of target genes can be stimulated or inhibited when specific transcriptional factors move from the cytoplasm into the nucleus.

This is for all A Level Biology AQA, OCR & Edexcel Students.
