Description from the creator

In this tute we'll look at a general overview of DirectX. We'll code a wWinMain entry point, which we'll use later to create a window. There's a large amount of boilerplate code and background knowledge just to run a DirectX app. I'll want to take it step by step. DirectX can be a very daunting topic. It's not actually that complicated, but the syntax is pretty scary. This'll mean a slow start, but hopefully it'll be useful and interesting for folks.

DirectX is a collection of API's for programming various multimedia, games and graphics related apps. This tute series will concentrate on DirectX 11 using Windows 8 desktop. I'll be using Visual Studio 2012 Express for Desktop, but 2013 might work also.

Also, every now and again Microsoft releases a new version of DirectX, so I may switch to modern versions in the future.
