In this video we look at how to add a basemap to ArcMap 10. A basemap is a background map that is hosted on web mapping services (WMS) servers. ESRI has many built in basemap, from Aerial/Satellite Imagery, streets maps, or even artistic maps like light grey canvas. The basic procedure is start up ArcMap and then use the Add Basemap feature located in the drop down menu of add data.
