I WILL TEACH YOU TWO METHODS OF BRINGING DATA OR ADDING DATA INTO ARCMAP:
METHOD 1-ADD DATA BUTTON
Using the Add Data button: Click the Add Data button and navigate to the desired dataset. Then select and add it to your map.
METHOD 2-CATALOG WINDOW
Dragging a dataset from the Catalog window: You can navigate to datasets in the Catalog and add them directly to ArcMap. Move to the layer you want to add, hold your left mouse button pushed down (the symbol will change in a +) and drag the layer to your Map Window
REMOVING LAYERS FROM A MAP
When you no longer need a layer on your map, you can remove it. Select the layer in the table of contents, right-click it, and choose Remove from the context menu.
