Did you know that you can add up to 50 skills to your LinkedIn profile and these will help you get found in search results and where other people have endorsed you for them who are in your
industry then there's extra value to be had. Let me show you how it's done. Here we go.

So you need to go to your drop-down click where it says me and
then select view profile to bring up your profile to edit scroll down to the skills section which is towards the bottom of the page and there where it says add a new skill. So you can actually
fill out up to 50 skills in there and of course some of them over time may be less relevant you could change the order in which they appear so let's have a look at how you do that. So I click add a new skill here. And you can put up to 3 skills to feature as your top skills So I've got social media and networking and
training but I might then look at these other categories. And these have been I think applied by LinkedIn automatically and may not necessarily be the one. So for example industry knowledge well that's my old role and IT strategy so I can remove that one. So I can either delete there or if I want to change the order in which they appear I can slide them up and down so for example I can move marketing strategy higher up and I could then choose to
remove that one.

OK so then I've got tools and technology so any particular things that you can use technologies that use applications etc so they are ok. I'd want to add LinkedIn to that list certainly if it's not there and some personal skill ones as well. So have a review through, this is if you already got skills in there, If not you've got a chance to put them in there. So there for example LinkedIn has just been put into other skills whereas I could have that up here in the tools and technology section If I want to replace one of the top skills I can click here to deselect it
and then choose another one social media consulting for example click there and that should now be at the top. I'll click
Save when I'm done.

To add a new skill it'll give you some suggestions there are some suggested based on what's there in the profile already as I said
it's about what you want to be found for where your expertise lies yes some people will endorse you but that doesn't happen as often now because people have to actually go and search for it whereas they used to be prompted to endorse people for skills. But if I just said consulting and obviously these will be
ones that aren't already there communication and of course it can be combination of words so social networking then there's a few
suggestions there so let's say social networking apps. So you can see the people who've endorsed you and 8 people who know social media have endorsed me, who's given endorsements for particular skills. If you say show more you can see them all as they appear to the users. So do take a bit of time to review if you haven't got any skills in there at all certainly add at least 10 but ideally up to 50 and hopefully it'll help you show up in more
frequent search results.
