Business process modeling is how business analysts capture how a business process flows and how individuals from different groups work together to achieve a business goal. It's also called business process mapping.

When you are starting a new project or analyzing a new domain, you want to start by analyzing the business process. This work isn't just for Business Process Analysts! All business analysts can benefit from being able to apply this technique to discover, analyze, and validate the details of the as-is process, as well as identify enhancements for the to-be business process model.

In this video, you'll discover what a business process model is, how you’d go about creating one, and why it’s important to model your process both visually in a workflow diagram and textually using a business process model template, like the one we offer for free in Microsoft Word format.
