Description from the creator

Materials Used:
Plastic Bowl, Distilled Water, Dish Soap (TSP), 9 Volt Batteries, Alligator Clips, Tin Foil.

Other Materials:
Titanium or Niobium Clips, Steel Wool, Coca Cola.

TSP is industrial dish soap. The best colors come from mixing distilled water and TSP for your dipping solution. If you do not have TSP and Distilled Water, use Coca Cola and any normal dish soap. Any normal dish soap should do the job just great. Coca Cola is more common in a household than Distilled Water, so just use what you've got.

This is how I anodize all of my titanium shit. It's cheap, it's easy, and it definitely brings out some great colors. The things that happen scientifically, is that the titanium surface color is changed physically. When different voltages are applied, light reflects off of the surface of Titanium differently than before voltage was put through the Titanium. When anodizing, the colors are only on the surface of the metal. Over time this thin color will wear off but it is easy to re-anodize it.

Use Niobium or Titanium clips to dip your anodized piece in the solution. You can also use alligator clips to dip your piece in the solution. The clips are ONLY to help you grip your piece of Titanium while dipping it into the active solution. The clips just make the finish more even, whereas if you used the alligator clips, you will see where the surface did not anodize due to the alligator clip teeth marks on the metal.
