Sorry this is an old Video... The proper way to clean you lines is to
1: Make the circle or whatever shape you want and color it the base color.

2: take the base color and make it your color 2 ( but go back to color 1 so you don't lose your base color because bad things will happen if you do ).

3: press select all in the selection area and copy the whole canvas. And after you do that unselect the canvas.

4: press "transparent" in the selection area.

5: do the blend ( or gradient as some people say ) as I showed you in the video.

6: press copy and it should clean up the lines instantly ;)
