- Hi, this is Dr. Philip Cordova with CORE Chiropractic here in Houston, Texas. Today I want to talk about how to choose the best Houston chiropractor for your problem. So some of the steps that you may not consider when choosing a chiropractor is, one, the location. So, we do have patients that drive clear across Houston to come to visit us but that's not always a formula for success when it comes to participating in a chiropractic treatment program. Very often, it takes more than one adjustment for you to see success. Our patients will often come in several times per week for a period of a few weeks. So, it you're okay with that drive, just realize that you will probably have to make that drive. So, step number one is to choose a chiropractor that's reasonably convenient for you. Somebody that you can get to on a consistent basis without being all stressed out by the time that you arrive. Second option if, of course, to choose a chiropractor that is also affordable for you. Now, notice I didn't say find the cheapest chiropractor available, but chiropractors can vary widely in the type of prices that they charge. In our office, we do tend to see a lot of patients who have health insurance since we are providers for all the major insurance plans. However, we also have affordable treatment plans and we've tried to keep our prices reasonable and within range of what would be a comfortable adjustment where you're still getting top quality care but we're not trying to be the cheapest chiropractor in town. Last is that your chiropractor should be able to explain what your problem is and how they're going to help. It's really not enough to just get cracked and get popped and feel like you are in charge of your treatment plan, after all, you are visiting a chiropractor for their expertise. So, your chiropractor should be able to explain what you have, how the adjustments are going to help, and how many adjustments you're going to need in order to see the best results. If you find a chiropractor that meets this criteria then I think you're on the way to knowing that you've got a good chiropractor that's going to help you get the right results and the best type of chiropractic care for you.
