Embedding YouTube Videos in PowerPoint 2007 the Fast way

If you are embedding lots of YouTube videos in PowerPoint 2007, you will want to download and install the free add-in developed by Microsoft MVP Shyam Palai on his website.

The add-in does all of the hard work for you, and doesn't require you to manually manipulate the Shockwave ActiveX Control, which is otherwise the only to embed YouTube videos in PowerPoint.

Note, when embedding YouTube videos in PowerPoint 2007, you need to make sure you grab the video URL only. PowerPoint 2007 cannot play YouTube playlists, playlists can only be added in later versions of PowerPoint using the embed code method.

Although YouTube videos embedded in PowerPoint 2007 will work in later versions of PowerPoint, there is not backwards compatibility for YouTube videos embedded in later versions of PowerPoint. They will likely not play in PowerPoint 2007.
