Another question I tend to get about developmental intervention is how to learn pronouns for kids with autism. In today’s video I’m going to talk about several pronouns teaching techniques, including I Do You Do, to help get you started teaching kids pronouns if they have autism. Learning pronouns can be especially difficult for children with developmental disabilities because of pronoun reversals. Many parents and professionals make the mistake of including pronouns when teaching, which can confuse the child as he/she may simply repeat what is being said. When parents helping kids learn pronouns avoid using such pronouns, it can make teaching pronouns later down the line much easier, when the child is ready.
