This video shows how to make phthalic anhydride from phthalic acid by sublimation. This method is very easy and can get high yield. Basically what I did was phthalic acid is heated and recrystallized the sublimated anhydride. This phthalic anhydride can be use to make luminol; that I will be doing in future. Also we can use this phthalic anhydride in functional group testings under test for phenols.
