How to make your patients feel at home in your dental practice
ChannelLaura HatchDescription from the creator
WANT TO MAKE YOUR PATIENTS FEEL AT HOME IN YOUR DENTAL PRACTICE? Find tips and advice to help in this exclusive to YouTube dental training video from the founder of Front Office Rocks, Laura Hatch!
Does your dental reception area have those really old, uncomfortable chairs, the even older magazines, no coffee or water available for patients, with dental posters on the walls hung long before the introduction of computers into your office? This may be an extreme example, however there are still dental offices with reception areas that look just like this example.
Is ”Make Yourself at Home'' a philosophy for your front office dental reception area? It should be the foundation of everything we do in the dental office!
Patients are coming into your practice from a variety of situations, whether they are rushing around all day, fighting traffic, dealing with stress at home, or stress at work. Then, they finally arrive at their appointment, they are possibly nervous, walking into an environment that is really not all that appealing in the first place!
If your dental reception area is in dire need of LOVE to make it feel more like home for your patients, here are some tips for your team to consider to help get you started:
1. Make sure that our reception areas make people feel at home as much as possible.
2. Your reception area needs and deserves to be LOVED!
3. Make sure your reception area allows your patients to relax and ‘detox’ from their possibly hectic day and have a moment to themselves.
4. Have coffee and water available.
5. Provide a comfortable space for your patients.
The Take-Away: After watching this video, think about your practice - Go physically take a look at your reception area!
Take a look at your chairs. Are they beat up?
How are your magazines, are they old?
Take a look around, is your reception area a calming environment?
These may sound like small details however, these small details matter and show your patients you really care. The details make your office a more comfortable and welcoming place for not only your patients, but for your team!
