Description from the creator

This tutorial shows how to use parallel distortion when mixing screaming vocals in a metal song to add aggression and help them cut through the mix.

In this tutorial Joel Wanasek is using Cubase with the stock distortion and EQ plugins, and the same approach should work in any DAW when mixing screaming vocals. He creates a vocal bus and a distortion bus for full control over the levels of the raw vocals and distorted screamed vocals.

These are the raw multi-tracks for "Gone With The Wind" by Architects, originally mixed by Henrik Udd.

Every month, NAIL THE MIX members get exclusive access to the REAL MULTI-TRACK SESSIONS from a REAL ALBUM, and a 6-8 hour live streaming class from the producer who mixed it. These are the actual sessions by bands like Gojira, Meshuggah, Periphery, Papa Roach, Machine Head, Bring Me The Horizon, A Day To Remember and more - and NTM is the only place in the world you'll get access to them!
