How to Replace Battery in Chevy Cruze Key Fob/Remote (2011-2016)

In this tutorial, I'll show you how to change the battery in your Chevy Cruze key fob. This process should work for all Chevy Cruze keyless entry key fobs from model years 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016. You'll know that the battery needs changing when the console lets you know the battery in the fob is dead. You'll need a 3V CR2032 coin cell battery for the replacement.

1. Press the key release button to extend the key blade.
2. Grasp the inside of the groove on the back panel and pull the battery bay door out.
3. Remove the old battery and insert the new battery with the positive, or flat side, up.
4. Close the door and it should snap back into place.

Now the battery message should be gone and you should be good to go with your keyless entry.
