HOW TO RESPOND TO NEGATIVE CRITICISM
ChannelArt of Verbal WarDescription from the creator
During the 2019 Democratic presidential debate, US Senator and presidential hopeful Kamala Harris got torn apart by US Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard during a part of the debate, so much so that the #1 trending hashtag the next morning was #KamalaDestroyed/#KamalaHarrisDestroyed.
This incident gives us an opportunity to learn how to defend oneself from negative criticism(s) because at some point or another (or many points) in life, we will get criticism, sometimes unfair, and often times, inaccurate, from others.
This video will review the four possible ways that one can respond to negative personal comments, criticism, or feedback and discuss which approaches are most ideal.
#1: Tit For Tat (3:45)
#2: The High Road (3:51)
#3: Hybrid (4:01)
#4: The "Meta" Approach (4:09)
You will also see examples of these four approaches starting at 4:50.
Finally, we will discuss which approach is most "ideal" starting at 5:54.
PLEASE NOTE: This is NOT a political video and endorses neither candidate. This video is for educational purposes to teach people about the art of verbal self defense.
