How to Stay Safe While Foraging Wild Edibles and Medicinal Plants

Hey guys in this video we talk about how to stay safe while foraging wild edibles and medicinal plants. There are a lot of things you can do to stay safe while foraging. It's important to know the wild plant that you want to consume. You want to be just as familiar with it as you would a paper plate from the store. This helps to ensure that you won't gather the wrong plant. This familiarity can be gained by just simply seeing the plant so much that it becomes second nature.

Another good way to be safe while foraging is to use separate collection bags to avoid cross contamination. When collecting plants for food and medicine, some plants will undoubtedly drip oils and juices. These can contaminate other plants by making them bitter, or giving you an allergic reaction if you have not used one of them before. Foraging wild edibles and medicinal plants can be very safe if you follow some simple rules while practicing in the field. Have fun and be safe foraging!
