Get More From Russ Howe PTI: russhowepti.com/get-results For most people, one of the hardest challenges of the entire comes in maintaining their diet and training throughout the Christmas and New Year holidays. With temptaion all around them, be it junk food or alcohol, sticking your diet seems to be near impossible for many of us.

The truth is, making simple allowances for yourself should take care of this issue for you and prevent you from craving a ton of junk food. There is a difference between allowing yourself a treat because it's Christmas, and coming off the rails completely!! :) The easiest way to stick to your diet over the Christmas and New Year festive period is to simply make allowances for yourself, allow yourself a treat, it is Xmas after all.

What does this do? Firstly, you don't feel like you are 'punishing yourself' for wanting a better body - it shouldn't feel like that when dieting, but for many people they make it that way by cutting out all of their favourite foods completely. Secondly, it'll allow you to not feel as if you are being left out and can enjoy your holiday season. There's nothing wrong with having an extra treat this time of year, it's actually fun. Thirdly, those who come off their diets and binge eat over Xmas then go back to the gym in January and see all their hard work has been lost because of a few long, stupid weeks of over eating and no training. We do not want that, right?! You'll find that you can enjoy your Xmas and hit the gym in January still looking and feeling good.

Remember; long term is the goal here.

If you think you are going to come off the rails of your diet this Xmas, remember there is absolutely nothing wrong with enjoying your food over Xmas, just do it without going crazy. And above all, ENJOY YOURSELF THIS CHRISTMAS!
