Step one: Head down!
Put ice or a handkerchief wet with cold water on the upper part of the nose.

Then take it off and press the bleeding nostril delicately.

5 minutes and… stop!

Now that the bleeding has stopped, put a haemostatic dressing on. Make sure it isn't made of cotton!

As for false myths!: did you know that keeping your head down is better than keeping it up? It is the only way to make the blood and mucus come out.

And don't forget! In the case of frequent haemorrhage… go to the emergency unit or see a specialist.
