On this tutorial we learn how to store materials on different libraries using the addon Material Library VX that comes with the latest versions of Blender. You will also learn how the addon works and two ways to fix a permission problem that the addon has in Windows 10. There’s also information on how to append materials from other files without any addons.
Fix Material Library VX on Windows 10
Option 1: Run Blender as administrator
Go to Blender shortcut/icon, right click on it, go to “more” menu and click “Run as administrator”
Option 2 (Permanent fix):
If you have the addon active, deactivate it.
Move the addon folder from
C:\Program Files\Blender Foundation\Blender 2.81\2.81\scripts\addons
To
C:\Users\[Your User Name]\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.81\scripts\addons\

Restart Blender, activate the addon again.

*you can control + x the addon folder, then control + v to move it, don’t copy since having the same addon in 2 different folders will generate conflict.
