How to Use Pinterest (2017)

Learn how to use Pinterest and get a guided tour of the website with this video tutorial. We’ll show you how to create a Pinterest board, how to browse ideas on Pinterest, how to make your own pins, and all the basics of using the site!

To create a Pinterest board, click on the profile icon in the top right corner. Then click Create Board. A small window will open. Click in the text box and type in a name for your board. Move the slider labelled “secret” to make your board visible only to you. When you’re done, click Create.

To browse Pinterest, click the menu icon in the top right. Then click on a category that interests you. A page of results will open. You’ll see some posts that fit into the category you selected. Pinterest may suggest some more specific categories related to the one you selected near the top of the results page.

To save a pin to a board on Pinterest, browse categories or search something to find an idea you’re interested in. Then, hover over the post with your cursor. Click the button that says “save” in the top right of the post. Click the name of the board you’d like to add it to. The post will save to your board.

To look for something specific on Pinterest, click the search bar and type in something you’d like to find. When the results appear, scroll through them until you see something you like. Save any posts you find interesting to your own Pinterest boards if you want to make it easy to find them later.

To create your own Pinterest pins, open your profile. Click on the board you’d like to add pins to. Click Save Pin. To pin something from another website, click “the web,” then paste the URL in the text box on Pinterest. To pin a file from your computer, click “your device”. Then upload the image you want to pin. Add a description of the file you uploaded. Then click the name of the board you’d like to save it to.

To sign out of Pinterest, click on the profile icon, then click the 3 dots above your name. Finally, click log out.
