There are several "pay to bid" auction sites out there these days. What is the best way to score the items on those sites?

Also notice that the structure of wins/losses on these auctions are similar to that of a lottery, bingo, or a poker tournament: one person wins and everyone else loses. So why is the payoff so much less for the winner than in a lottery or bingo? Because the company is keeping all the extra money. The odds to win are no better than a lottery but the payoff is WAY less! The risk/reward here is so poor on these auctions you should think twice before participating.
