www.GeneaVlogger.com This genealogy tutorial video is about navigating the HTML version of the World Family Tree on Geni.com. This video is the perfect introduction for anyone who is new to Geni.com, looking to learn the basics, or unsure how to get the most out of the tree view options. Using the family tree of George Washington the First President of the United States, I demonstrate how to navigate the family tree. The two tabs at the bottom of the family tree view window are Navigate and Go To. Manipulating the family tree using the zoom bar and generation preferences allows different views into a family history and can be helpful in genealogy research. Navigate allows the user to see an overall view of the shape of family tree with it's current settings. Go to is an index of all the people who are in the family tree as it is being viewed, being listed by both Surname and Maiden Name. Other tools discussed include the left side panel, the inconsistency checker, pedigree view, and a few tricks on how to make the best use of these tools.
