Answering the question, How easy is it to submit translations via YouTube


This is a topic I wanted to write up with a procedure since, to perform this task via YouTube is so easy and I wanted to take some of the fear factor out of the process.


The BoodleBobs channel are looking for supporters of our bedtime stories, who would like to contribute towards our goal of making the BoodleBob stories freely available and in as many languages as possible. To do this we set up a page explaining to our supporters how we would like to do this and this video is part of that page. Learning to add close captions / subtitles in less than a minute,


Old School Method
The .txt .vtt file. Some people prefer this method of updating a text file and sending it in to us. The text files are time coded with the existing English and it is a case up updating the translation line by line and sending it back to us. New Method
Add your translations directly on to the time coded video. Its really easy (uh.. apart from the translating bit) and this simple step by step tutorial hopefully will show you how.

You will need a Google account to add the translated subtitle's.

We have 8 Bedtime stories we would like to translate in to as many languages as possible. Each book has its own page on our website along with its own language page.

600 words is the average duration of one of our stories. Translating those 600 words can make our free books available to 1000's more children.
