Create X Factor's Lucy Spraggan's Military Look | Rimmel London Tutorial

Julia Carta X Factor's chief makeup artist takes us behind the scenes at X Factor and shows us how she creates Lucy's Military look for her Club Classics performance. She also gets the truth from Lucy about her night out with Rylan Clark.

Julia begins this look by using Traffic Stopping Shadow and dabs the brush with some water and applies the darkest shade over the eye lid. This technique is called foiling which brings the pigment to the forefront and gives you a lovely shimmery effect. Afterwards use your finger or a brush blend in the colour to smooth out any harsh edges.

Julia asks Lucy about what really happened on her night out with Rylan and Lucy talks about how they didn't do anything to upset or offend anyone but admits she did give Rylan a fireman's lift.

Using the same colour Julia then applies the eyeshadow along the lower lash line and merges it in with the eyeshadow on the top lid keeping it soft and smokey. The colour helps to accentuate Lucy's hazel eye colour.

Next Julia uses Glam Eyes Mono eyeshadow in jet black to line the top lashes and a little on the lower lashes to make the lashes look thicker.

To finish off the military look use two coats of Rimmel Extra Wow Lash mascara to create really long lashes and apply soft kohl eyeliner to make the eyes look sultry.
