How to Be a Better Hunter | Part 1 | Master Your Rifle | Tactical Rifleman
ChannelTactical RiflemanDescription from the creator
Become a Better Hunter.
If you live in REAL America you can't help but notice that all the "big box" stores and sporting goods stores are ramping up their hunting gear selections. Every year they want you to buy the latest "GucciFlage" and buy the latest ammo, that is garrenteed to help hunters get that big trophy for their Man Room. Hunting season is coming up, and hunting is as "American" as Apple Pie.
If you know my military background, you know I grew up behind a sniper rifle. Hunting is in my blood. Sniping is in my blood. Mammals are mammals; two legs or four. As a matter of fact, I always encouraged our snipers to take up hunting during peacetime or between deployments. Why? Well, because any time you are in the woods, tactically trying to sneak up on a target without getting detected, and then engage the target with precision rifle fire; well, that's gonna make you a better sniper, and help you maintain your sniper skills. Hunting helps Snipers.
Likewise, I believe civilian hunters can become better at their craft by learning a few tips & techniques from our military snipers. These same skills go both ways. Hunting is hunting; two legs or four.
So, like many hunters, I used to read all the hunting magazines. I loved bow hunting, and always read about all the "secret tips" of the pros, and read about all the great gear I "Had to Have" each season. Even at the dentist office, you could always find a copy of Field & Stream Magazine.
Eventually, as I realized that we were masters of OUR trade, the more I decided to change the way I hunted, and apply all the skills & knowledge that I had picked up over decades behind a sniper rifle.
So, here I am, reaching out to possibly new viewers and possibly current subscribers that like to hunt. If you want to become a Better Hunter, open you mind and soak some of this in. Some is common sense to me, but foriegn to others. Some of this may not apply to you. Like everything else in life, always try to learn new techniques. Knowledge is Power.
This is going to be a 4 part series.
Part-1: Master your Rifle
Part-2: Camouflage
Part-3: Movement
Part-4: Equipment
If you are not a hunter, and are only here for the cool military and gun stuff; take notice that I didn't put a single picture of a 4-legged animal anywhere in these videos. Squirrel all this information away, and I pray you never have to use it against 2-legged adversaries.
