Description from the creator

difficulty level: intermediate

This video demonstrates how to display the file extensions of certain specical files.

The specical file extensions are:

LNK (File/Folder Shortcut)
URL (Internet Shortcut)
PIF (MS-DOS Program Shortcut)
SCF (Windows Explorer Command)
SHS (Shell Scrap Object)
SHB (Document Shortcut)
XNK (Exchange Folder Shortcut)

Normally when you go to tools - folder options and unhide known file extensions, the above file extensions are still actually hidden.

The way to display these specical file extensions is with a registry mod. Here is how:

Click 'start' and then click 'run'
type in 'regedit' and click 'ok'
In the 'edit' menu click 'find'
type in 'NeverShowExt' (note that regedit can randomly be case sensitive so type exactually as shown.)
click 'find' and for each result, delete it by right clicking on it and hitting 'delete'
Now click 'edit' and hit 'find next'
repeat the above step until all the registry keys are deleted. When they are all gone, hitting 'find next' will return a dialog saying 'finished searchign through the registry'

Now close the registry editor and click the start button
click on 'run' and type in 'tskill explorer.exe' then hit 'ok'

This should now display the above specical extantions for those types of files.

If typing tskill explorer returns an error simply log off and back on again.

Alternativley you can download tskill.exe from here:
