How to easily get 120 coins UFO in the Geometry Dash!

*FAQ. READ BEFORE COMMENTING!*

I made this video quite long ago, and I feel it could do a better job of explaining the trick to obtaining the 120 coins UFO icon without actually collecting 120 coins. There was a lot of confusion and many repeating questions in the comments. Although it was recorded in 2.1, it is still relevant in 2.2.

Here's how it works.

When you quit the game, it saves all your collected data (stars, coins, icons, username, levels etc.) into a file on your computer. When you open up the game next time, it will read that file to restore your progress. It doesn't do that across all your devices, so you have to manually upload this file via "SAVE" button in the account management tab of the settings menu. The game will send that file to RobTop's servers (cloud), allowing you to retrieve it from any device at any time by clicking "LOAD"; this is called synchronization.

Now, we want to maximize our number of coins, by beating levels which reward us with 3 coins each, or with other means. There are 22 such levels in the main game (each giving us 3 coins) totaling 22*3=66 coins PLUS 4*3=12 more from the tower! You can also collect additional two coins from the Vaults in the game (read wiki or look up the YouTube for tutorials of getting them), and one coin by quickly navigating through list of main levels three times (read wiki geometry-dash.fandom.com/wiki/Collectibles#Secr…). If you want to achieve a particular number of them, for example, to obtain the 120 coins UFO icon (BUT ANY OTHER ICON REQUIRING COINS IS ALSO APPLICABLE), you would be 120-(22*3+4*3+2+1)=39 coin short. You are supposed to grind map packs from here now, to collect the rest and get yourself to desired number of coins.

But we don't want to, obviously. Map packs are bad, boring and grindy, reward with only 1 coin per 3 god damn levels, 2 coins at best (with a higher cost of levels' difficulty). We know there are RobTop's levels in the GD Meltdown and GD Subzero (MD and SZ for short), each containing 3 levels with 3 coins, resulting in 3*3=9 easy coins! If only there was a way to bring them to your account... You can't, unfortunately. The main game doesn't contain the levels from MD/SZ, so it doesn't keep track of you completing them. If you complete them, save your data to the cloud, load it on another (or even the same(?)) device, you would not see them completed.

The thing is... we don't care. We are absolutely not interested in the coins. Only thing we need is the icon, and guess what? It is in the main game! So, the plan becomes:
0. Get to such amount of coins in the GD, so that we are 9 short for getting desired icon. For 120 coins UFO it would be 120-9=111 coins. Yes you would have to play some map packs but not as much as intended; 00:00
1. SAVE your account data to the cloud; 00:52
2. In the MD/SZ, LOAD it on the mobile device or an Android emulator; 01:07
3. Complete 3 easy RobTop levels collecting 3 coins in each, you can do this step before step 2, it shouldn't matter; 01:07
4. Our coins sum up, and we are rewarded with our desired icon; 01:23
5. SAVE!!! your new data from the MD/SZ app to the cloud. Doing so you are remembering the fact that you got the icon; 01:33
6. Return to main GD and LOAD your data back; 02:02
7. GG, you now have your icon, yet you are still 9 coins short! 02:33

Q: What icons can I get with this method?
A: Every icon with coins requirement.

Q: Why I'm 9 coins short?
A: The game doesn't save them to your account, only icons.

Q: Can I do it with other amount of coins?
A: Yes, you can collect less than 9 coins in MD/SZ if you have more than you need.

Q: Can I do it with MD and SZ simultaneously?
A: No, because you can't save collected coins in the cloud, so you will load the same amount the second time.

Q: Will this get me banned on leaderboards?
A: No, why? RobTop doesn't even care about icon hack.

Q: Why bother? I will just get coins via map packs
A: Great! Nice to hear! Have a good day!

Q: Do I need a GD account?
A: Obviously, you need to have an account to be able to save your data to the cloud.

Q: Can I do it in GD World/GD Lite?
A: No, there is no accounts in World/Lite

Q: Do I have to follow the exact steps above to get this???
A: Yeah that would be nice! 2nd and 3rd step could be swapped tho.
