Another Update 4/5/22:
Finally have acquired a FiOS G100. Have not messed with it. I highly doubt this router and the new gigabit version navigate like this old one do. Methods also may not work anymore. If you’re
having constant issues with being DDOS’d, I recommend you invest in a VPN, NFO, OVH, or a similar protection method. Best of luck and kind regards.
Update: After a couple of years of consistent questions and comments, let me answer some common ones in this small paragraph———
This method will more than likely work for those with FiOS and the older Actiontec router, and possibly the new one (I’m a poor so I have yet to obtain the new router for use and testing). The Netgear portion of this tutorial is a basic outline and is not guaranteed to work like the FiOS Login method does, and I have no way to test it as the Netgear is not my main router that has a direct connection to the Fiber Optic Internet Cable setup installed by my ISP.
Lastly, note that some providers simply do not allow for the changing of your IP Address (i.e. Suddenlink Communications, literal dogshit lol). In this case, you have no choice but to either make use of a VPN, or switch ISPs if able to.
Also, for those that cannot use listening nor basic comprehension skills, I want to say this: You do not need working internet to access the settings of your own LOCAL Network. A DDOS blocks the connection to the INTERNET by your local network (imagine a brick wall between your local network and an earth icon representing the world wide interwebz). Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.
I won’t be responding to any other comments. I’m no longer passionate about IT and am just finishing up courses for it for the sake of being able to support myself and loved ones with a stable job. Hopefully from there, I’ll be able to support my real passions. Sad shit but that’s the world we live in. Later ❤️
Basic shit tutorial of how to log into your Actiontec or Shitgear router and release + renew your Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol lease to acquire a new IP Address. Useful to know when you've been getting held offline by internet virgins who ONLY fight with packets. This simple trick can get you back online within minutes.
As I said in the video, this won't prevent you getting hit off in the first place, it can only allow you to reconnect to the internet quicker by changing your IP Address, thus sidestepping the loads of traffic being sent to your former IP.
