In brief

Discover how to navigate Netflix’s hidden sub-genre menus directly from a web browser—no apps needed. This trick lets you quickly find niche categories like classic comedies or vampire horror movies by entering specific codes into the URL. Perfect for anyone tired of scrolling through broad genre lists.

Key steps

  1. Open Netflix.com in a web browser and sign in to your account.
  2. Note the sub-genre code for your desired category (e.g., 31694 for classic comedies).
  3. Edit the URL to include /genre/[code] after ‘browse’ (e.g., /genre/10118 for comic book movies).
  4. Press Enter to load the hidden menu for that sub-genre.

Video Transcript:
Netflix has a ton of content. However, if you don't know exactly what you're looking for, sifting your way through the monstrous pile of content to find something you want to watch can be a headache. And while Netflix lets you access menus associated with high-level genres, it does make it easy for you to drill further into sub-genres. In this video, I'll show you how to access hidden Netflix menus that show all of the content available for a specific sub-genre. The only catch is that you can only do this through a web browser, and you can't access these secret Netflix menus through any of the Netflix apps.

Step 1. Open a web browser, navigate to Netflix.com, and then sign in to your account. You'll arrive at your Netflix home screen.

Step 2. Make a note of any of Netflix's sub-genre codes on any of these slides that you want to see content for. For example, if you wanted to see Netflix's secret menu for classic comedies, you would write down 31694. If you wanted to see Netflix's hidden menu associated with historical documentaries, you would write down 5349. Or if you wanted to see Netflix's secret menu associated with Vampire Horror Movies, you would write down 75804. I'll include as many of these codes as possible in the video description, but for the full list you'll have to return to these images in the video.

Step 3. Because I want to see Netflix's hidden menu associated with comic book and superhero movies, I'm going to enter "/genre/10118" after "browse" in the address bar for the web browser. The full website URL should look like what's on the screen. Press "Enter." The Comic Book and Superhero Movies hidden Netflix menu appears.
