Microsoft have issued a mandatory upgrade in July 2012 to all users who are still using Windows Live Essentials 2009. If you try to log into Windows Live Messenger 2009 on Windows Vista,Windows 7 and Windows 8.You will get a notice telling you to upgrade to Windows Live Messenger 2011 version. And if you refuse the upgrade you will not be able to log into Messenger. Here is a shorter video in which I show you how to avoid the mandatory update to WLE 2011 and still keep and carry on using WLE 2009 version.
