Description from the creator

A couple of friends join me as I brew a Belgian Quad. We decided since this beer had such a large grain bill, that we would get two beers for the price of one and do this thing Parti-gyle Style. This technique is when you continue to sparge so that you collect another 5 gallons of wort. The first beer will be your larger gravity style and the second will be a much lower session style beer. Our session beer turned out to be a Belgian Amber (at least that's what we will call it).

Belgian Quad Recipe

Belgian Pilsner 71%
Munich Light 13%
German Wheat 2%
Aromatic Malt 4%
Caramunich I 4%
Special B 4%
Melanoiden Malt 2%

Mash @ 152 F

Hallertau 25 IBUs @ 60 min

WLP 530 (3 Liter Starter) Ferment at 66 F

Add 1 lb D-180 Candi Sugar on day 3 of fermentation
