Description from the creator

Based on Creature Comforts Tropicalia, we brewed an IPA hopped with Centennial, Citra, and a whole lotta Galaxy hops. This homebrewed version also uses a kveik strain of yeast, which should result in an even more tropical beer. Recipe and terminology below.

Homebrew Recipe (for 6 gallons)

14# Pilsner Malt
1.5# White Wheat Malt
.5# Honey Malt
Hochkurz mash: Beta rest @144, Alpha rest @160.

Mash Water profile:
Ca 67 Mg 15 Na 37 S04 73 Cl 95

Hop Schedule
30 min: 1oz Centennial
10 min: 1 oz Galaxy
Flameout: 1oz Centennial, 1oz Galaxy
Hopstand @170F: 1oz Centennial, 1oz Citra, 3oz Galaxy

Omega Hothead Ale Yeast: 1packet @85F

Dry Hop @60F
2oz Citra, 3oz Galaxy

OG: 1.070 IBU: 70 (calculated)

Note: We did a no-sparge mash, but Beersmith does not adjust the efficiency for that profile. Our Original Gravity came out at 1.060 instead, so in the future we will adjust the efficiency to around 60%. Oops.

Terminology for n00bs and my curious family members:

Mash: The process by which enzymes in the grain convert the starches into fermentable sugars.

Sparge: A second stage of the mash, in which more water is added to further rinse sugars out of the grain and increase extract efficiency.

No-Sparge: Where all of the mash water is added at once, resulting in increased malt flavor (due to using more total grain to achieve the same amount of sugars). However, it is inefficient and may result in a lower Original Gravity than intended unless properly calculated.

Hops: The best part of beer. My true love.

Kveik: A family of Norwegian Farmhouse yeast strains, known for rapid fermentations at high temperatures (70-100F)

Gjaerkauk: Translated from Norwegian it means "yeast scream." A fun thing to do if you like yelling a lot or are a metalhead.

Disclaimer: No, Owen does not actually brew and sell his disgusting recipes he comes up with. Duh.
