+ It is critical you have all the supplies you need to take care of the gecko/geckos before you actually get the geckos.
+ The best gecko for those with children, or those who are just starting out with geckos is the leopard gecko. They are somewhat skittish as babies, but rarely (if ever) bite and would sooner drop their tails than fight with you. If a leopard gecko does bite you, chances are it won't be very hard. They are very calm animals when they reach their full size.
+ One of the worst geckos for kids or beginners is the Tokay gecko. They can be loud and may bite you just because you get too close to them. (if not handled with protective gloves through their life, the situation will become comparable to a very small and speedy untamed dog) They are known for drawing blood and, in severe cases, slightly removing the tips of offending fingers when they bite ✔

+ Never buy a gecko without buying the proper setup first. Do research, nearly all problems that can occur with any reptile are caused by lack of proper care.
+ Never buy a gecko that you can't afford to keep or don't have the time to care for. This is bad for the gecko and for you.
+ Always remember that most geckos are considered non-manageable geckos. This means that they don't tame well and likely will be very quick, you probably won't be able to handle these unless you get them as babies and 'tame' them. These include Tokay geckos and Day gecko ✔
