TRANSCRIPT FROM VIDEO:
In this video I want to show you how to display all open programs in your Windows Taskbar instead of combining them into one menu.
This video is specific to Windows 7. By default Windows 7 combines and hides some of your programs that are open on your Taskbar. But, if you'd rather see all the open programs in your taskbar you can also easily display them all using the following steps.
Now on my screen here you see I have some spreadsheets. I also have some web browsers and I also have TradeStation open now. Notice how my Taskbar is very clean and organized.
Windows tries to help me out by combining all my open windows into one icon. I have investors.com open in Mozilla Firefox and I have EZBreakouts openin Mozilla Firefox. Windows is trying to help me out to be more organized, and keep things simple, by combining these windows into one icon. I find this difficult am always forgetting where the programs are located.
If you want to change this what you can do is right-click on the Taskbar. Mouse over on the gray contextual menu to “properties”. Click on properties. Then mouse down to where it says “Task buttons” and change the option from the default “always combine” to “never combine”.
Click “apply”. Now these settings are going to customize my Taskbar menu. You'll notice now I can click on the icon for EZBreakouts. I can click on the icon for investors.com. Both are Mozilla Firefox windows. I can see I have many other programs open available here.
Windows 7 will compress these down the more windows that I have open. If you use a lot of windows during the day from different applications this may get a little messy.
However, if you're like me I would rather be able to see exactly what I have open and easily access them with one click.
This tip can make things a lot faster for you to visualize which programs are open. Ultimately, you’ll have faster access access and save a lot of time during your trading day.
I hope this quick tip helped you today. Thanks for watching this video it EZ Trading Computers. We'll see you next time.
