How to Do Online Prayer Gatherings

How can we maximize the gift of technology to mobilize prayer? Here are some helpful tips that you can do to make praying together a habit, whether online or offline.

Tips for online prayer meeting/gathering.

1. Prayer chat. Using a topic or Scripture to pray for, type in a one-sentence prayer. Pray for our government and local leaders. Determine beforehand the order that you will send your prayer.

2. Virtual prayer walk/Jericho walk. Using Google Maps (or any map available), zoom in to areas you want to pray for. Pray for the people in the area, too.

3. Praise sprint. In a collaborative document, ask everyone to type their praises and thanksgiving within a limited amount of time. Take time to praise and thank God through the list generated. Ideal for small groups. 🙌🏽

4. Subscribe to a Prayer Calendar. Make a separate calendar in Google Calendar. Populate a week/month with prayer points that you want to pray for. You can add alarms so that you can have a synchronized prayer time. Invite others to subscribe to your prayer calendar.

5. Gather prayer items through sites and apps, even from Facebook or Instagram stories. Posting in these platforms help you broadcast but allow viewers to respond personally. Ideal for personal prayer concerns. Joshua Project has an app called Unreached for the Day, unreached people groups worldwide. Open Doors has the World Watch List in their site to pray for the persecuted church.

6. The simplest way to do prayer gathering in small groups? Have a conference/joint call over the phone. Maximize your unlimited call packages and joint/group call function of your phone.
