How to Extract Media Files in PowerPoint 2016
ChannelAnthony GodinhoDescription from the creator
In this tutorial, you will learn How to Extract Media Files in PowerPoint 2016. When creating presentations and videos in PowerPoint, you can embed various types of media files like MP4 videos, MP3 audios, images (PNG, JPEG, GIF), 3D models, as well as Flash animations. When you save your PowerPoint file with all these media files, they are all saved within the PPTX file.
If you want to extract these individual media files, you can convert the PPTX file to a ZIP folder and then extract the zipped folder. This creates a separate zipped folder with a separate Media sub-folder where all the media files are saved. In order to do so, follow these simple steps:
(1) open File Explorer and navigate to the folder where the PPTX file is saved; (2) make sure that you check the box “File Name Extensions” under the View menu; (3) select the PPTX file and use CTR+C to copy it (4) and then CTRL+V to paste the file; (5) this will create a duplicate file which you right-click and choose Rename; (6) give it a filename with a “.ZIP” extension; (7) click YES, when you see a dialog box pop-up; (8) this will create a zipped folder which you right-click and choose Extract All.
Once you do the above, you will see a bunch of sub-folders, one of which is the “PPT” folder. And under the “PPT” folder, you will find a MEDIA folder where all the individual media files are saved.
