Steps
1 Choose Your Name. - The first step in forming an LLC in North Carolina is choosing a name that not only fits your market but will help youin your effort to build your brand.
Search North Carolina LLC Database to see if the name you are choosing has already been registered.
2 Fill-in Articles of Organization. - This is the official application for forming an LLC in the State of North Carolina. Please completely fill this out and if you have any issues with understanding any of the information that is being asked from you, you should seek the assistance of an attorney.
Attach $125 check payable to the 'Secretary of State'.

3 Wait for Documents. - You will have to wait for your LLC to arrive in the mail approximately 10 to 15 business days.
4 Apply For EIN Number. - You will have to apply for an EIN number if your LLC has more than 1 member (owner) or you will be seeking to have a business bank account.
