How to format a hard drive in windows 7, 8 or vista

Basic tutorial explaining how to format a hard drive using built in windows software. This method will work for Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows Vista Users. You do not need to install any pre-requisite software for this tutorial.

===== TIPS =====
You are also able to re - partition hard drives using this software by right clicking a partition and choosing 'Shrink Volume' and then right clicking the empty space partition and choosing new simple volume.

You are NOT able to format the Hard drive that windows is currently operating on with this method (Usually Local Disk C:) . To do this you will need a Windows installation disk or another partition with an Operating System installed on it from which you will be able to format the drive or partition you are running windows from at the moment.
