He explains the difference between common rafters and jack rafters. Before cutting, they go through the measurements to correctly mark the rafters. Tommy uses a template to mark the seat cut of every rafter for consistency. After the seat cuts are made, Tommy shows the apprentices how to correctly nail in the rafters.
