Hi Leanne here from The 2 Cent Nurse and today you have asked how to get a deep splinter out.

Initially I used this method to get a splinter out from under a nail but it works just as well for any splinter.

What you need to do is make a sugar and soap poultice and if you need instructions on how to do that you can watch my video youtube.com/watch?v=7UioNnFPEhM&feature=you…

After washing the area well with soapy water apply the poultice and fix it in place with a bandaid or some type of adhesive dressing. Leave it for 24hrs and then remove it. If the splinter hasn’t come out make up a fresh poultice and do the same again. You will find this a very effective way to get a deep splinter out of your foot too.
