Description from the creator

Sometimes it isn’t possible to group columns in a pivot table if the columns are individual fields. However there are a few ways around this and which method you use will depend on the sort of data you have and what you want to do with it. Firstly you can paste the original table transposed and then make a pivot table from that table with everything the opposite way around. However if there are lots of data points it will take a long time to put them all into the pivot table. Another method is simply to add a new column to the pivot table either outside the pivot table or included in the pivot table using calculated fields. You could also make an old version of the pivot table using the keyboard shortcut ALT + D + P, this keyboard shortcut will allow you to use a feature in a tab in an old version of excel which is no longer there but is still accessible using a keyboard shortcut. In this sort of pivot table the columns can be grouped. Finally you can use a Query and unpivot the columns in the table to lay the table out in the correct way so that the columns can be grouped.
