How to Grow Hoya Bella Miniature Wax Plant

►Hoya bella, Waxflower or miniature wax plant (Hoya lanceolata bella) has long been a favorite trailing plant for gardens or indoor spaces that have high humidity. It's a pretty plant, with star-shaped white wax-like flowers centered with a rose pink colored mini flower within a flower. For those who don't much like tending to plants, this is a fairly low-maintenance choice that should please ✔

► Tips
+ Some variations of the plant (at least one) smells a lot like cat urine. You will find yourself scouring the corners trying to find where someone peed at!
+ Seeds can be collected when pods form. As the seeds do not keep well, plant them immediately in a pot of their own.
+ Originally a native from India, Thailand and Burma, this plant enjoys plenty of humidity.
+ This plant should bloom constantly through the year, provided the conditions are right; the flowers are long lasting. However, too much hot sun or poor watering can impact the blooming cycle negatively. Don't pinch it back regularly––this prevents blooming.
+ The flowers have a slight sweet scent ✔

+ Mealy bug and red spider mite are sometimes a problem for this plant.
+ Only re-pot this plant if you have no choice; it dislikes being moved and will most likely drop its blooms and take some time to readjust to its new container. ✔
