How to Install a Trap Door System in Your Loft

Welcome to Lotus Feast Community House Toronto. In this video we show you how to Install a Trap Door System in Your Loft.

Step 1 - Measure and Trim your trap door so it sits flush in the loft space

Step 2 - Sand any rough edges and apply a coat of water based wood finish

Step 3 - Attach the pulley rope to your trap door and test where it will hang best

Step 4 - Drill hole and secure the rope in place to the wall

Step 5 - Adjust the rope length and secure the free end to your trap door

Step 6 - If necessary trim the frame so the trap door and rope sits flush

Step 7 - Prepare the space for your second door

Step 8 - Secure the second door to the wall with hinges

Step 9 - Attach a rotating pin in place to prop second door open
