Installing gypsum drywall is one of the more difficult tasks when remodeling a home. This video is intended as a simplified guide for the homeowner, and not a guide for the professional. A sheet of ½" drywall weighs 54 pounds and can be difficult to maneuver down a flight of stairs. In our application we chose to pay extra and had our supplier, Miller Drywall delivery the drywall to the basement.

Here we are setting a wood board in place with just 2 screws supporting the drywall until we can securely fasten it with the all-purpose drywall screws for wood. Professionals prefer to set drywall sheets horizontally it reduces the taping and sanding.
Install the fasteners into the drywall following their standard recommendation for 16" oc frame construction.

InSoFast's interlocking co-polymer stud is very strong and has the equivalent strength of attaching to a 20 gauge commercial steel stud.
An Independent laboratory, Stork Twin City Testing Corporation, confirms that a single screw embedded into the InSoFast stud can easily handle the sheer or vertical weight of 5 sheets of drywall.

InSoFast can replace z furring and rigid foam insulation for insulating a basement. Our customer's review's state that we are faster and less expensive then spray foam applications and a better value for the price. With our built in studs our walls are flat and it is easier to hang sheet rock on to our wall system. So if you have a concrete or a cmu concrete block wall to finish and insulate consider using InSoFast for a better less expensive project.
