Description from the creator

Over the years I have work with a lot of clients who are afraid of color. They want to keep everything neutral because they are scared they may tire of a bold color or a rich color will make a room feel dark and small.

Once I get them introduced to color they always say “I love it and I wish I did it sooner!” Every time!

To get them out of the neutral rut I have a simple way to introduce a bold color into their home with minimal commitment and maximum impact.

How I do it is PDF – no not a PDF file on your computer

Powder Rooms
Dining Rooms
Foyers

The reason these are great spaces to present color is because they are spaces you don’t spend a lot of time in – so you are less likely to tire of the color.

I love doing a bold color in a Powder Room. It’s the smallest room. It's not as much of a commitment, plus you'll spend less time and money. In this powder room the rich red was chosen because of the colors in the vessel sink. The vibrant red creates this opulent jewel box feel. Using a dramatic color will give your guests an unexpected surprise.

Dining Rooms are a great place to dip your toes into bold colors. Choose an accent color from the rug, upholstery or adjoining room and use it on the walls. If you have a tray ceiling use it there too. Friends and family will be drawn back time and again.

Foyers set the tone for a home and are the important first impression. Create a welcoming atmosphere with a lively bust of color. In this craftsman bungalow a warm terracotta color energizes the space and invites you in. Neutral walls and ceilings are throughout the rest of the home; however the terracotta color is repeated in in rugs, pillows and accessories. This supports flow from one room to the next.

I say get out of the neutral rut. Dare to be bold and go for it!
